Building apps for Even G2: what we learned making One Line

We published One Line on Even Hub, the app catalogue for Even Realities G2 smart glasses. What changes when you design for an in-lens display, and what businesses can do with it.

Even Realities G2 smart glasses look like regular glasses, but they have a display in the lenses that shows text in front of your eyes. Apps for the G2 are published on Even Hub, the official catalogue. We published One Line there.

What One Line is

One Line shows a single short line on your G2, picked for the moment you are in: before a meeting, before speaking, at the start of a focus session or at the end of the day. Every line is original, under 60 characters, and points to something you can do in the next few minutes.

  • Four moments, with lines in English and Italian
  • Favorites you can save and read again later
  • Intention mode: pick one word and keep it in the corner of the display while a focus timer runs
  • Role (manager, speaker or creator, developer, focus) and language are set on the phone

It works fully offline: no account, no network, no permissions. Get it on Even Hub.

What changes compared to a phone app

You get a line, not a screen. On a phone you can scroll; on the lenses you can't. Every screen has to say one thing, readable at a glance while you are doing something else. That is why every line in One Line stays under 60 characters.

There are few controls. Swipe to move, press to open or save, double press to go back. Every feature has to fit inside those three gestures, so menus have to be short.

The phone does the heavy lifting. Settings (role, language, favorites) live in the phone app; the lenses only show what you need right now.

Less data, fewer problems. One Line asks for no permissions and sends nothing over the network. On a device you wear all day, privacy is a design decision, not an add-on.

What a business can do with it

One Line is a personal app, but the same approach works at work:

  • Checklists for field teams: technicians, warehouse staff and maintenance crews following a procedure hands-free.
  • Talking points for speakers: the next point of the presentation, without looking down at your notes.
  • Data from business systems: the order to prepare, the status of a job, an alert from your ERP or management software, shown on the display when it matters.

We build apps for Even G2

We design the interface for the in-lens display, build the companion app on the phone, connect it to your systems and publish it on Even Hub. If you have an idea for the G2, or want to find out whether it makes sense for your team, get in touch. You will find the service in the Services section.
